Being Silly With My Camera : )

So, I discovered this setting on my camera that has a long exposure and I rotated it while pointing it at the Christmas tree. I was trying to get a picture in the dark. They didn't turn out very well but it sure is fun to try. Funny : )

Christmas Shopping

Well I was so excited today to have a little time to go Christmas shopping. It was lots and lots of fun getting what I needed. The only thing was it was so, so, cold. I checked online when I got home and it was 17 degrees outside. Wow! So I want to thank Rick for my new fabulous electric blanket (a November Christmas present) It sure helped me get warm up in a hurry. Very nice.

Love It!

Thanks mom for the wonderful, cute cross stitches! We all love them!

Let it snow

December it is cold and snowy and it is very beautiful if you don't think about how cold it is. I love this picture of the snow so it is my December photo pick.

My Favorite Photo for November

I love to get pictures from National Geographic for my computer wallpaper. I thought I would share one photo each month that I really like. http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/wallpaper/download

Lice Yuck!

Again, really! Now that the lice is gone I can vent. Girls, long hair and lice do not mix. My girls even got short hair cuts at the beginning of school. Why again was lice created? Oh, I figured it out . . . to teach me how to be patient one lice egg and one wiggly lice bug at a time till all hundreds and hundreds are gone. Hopefully it is the only war I will ever see up close. War between me and lice!

Grandma and Grandpa's Leafs

It was not the same this year raking leafs without Grandma there. She and Grandpa are staying with Maree until their house is remodeled. I got a good look at the house and wow it is going to be very nice when it is done! The whole upstairs practically new : ) The girls liked jumping in the leafs. We raked up 12 or so big black bags. Lots of fun!

KateLynn's Map

This was a book she read for school. She was supposed to make the map match the words in the book. She worked on it while we were off track.

Freeze Halloween Party

Katie is Herminie from Harry Potter, Sarah is a witch, Megan is a Hello Kitty Cowgirl. They had lots of fun playing with their cousins! They played musical chairs (with towels on the floor to stand on not chairs), they frosted cookies, and the soup was spectacular.

Sarah's Baptism

Sick already - is it possible . . .

Usually we get sick around Halloween sometime. It is sooner this year. Poor Megan turned up with a sick tummy tonight. Without getting into too much detail I sure wish she could make it to the bathroom before getting sick all over. Lots of laundry, lots of baths, lots of carpet cleaning! Yuck!

This Is The Place Heritage Park

We spent the day today at This Is The Place Heritage Park. We had a great time! I havn't been there for a long time. They have made lots of changes and every house was fun to explore. Everyone liked the train ride. It was very interesting and lots of fun.

Megan's Blankets

I finished Megan's quilt this week. I needed to sew the buttons on and I finally did it. All the girls have their quilts and afghans done for their beds now and it is nice to have it all finished. I started this project 4 years ago. I am happy it is done. They turned out just as I pictured them. The blanket is two twin sheets put together. I used fabric markers on the top to draw the cute pictures on the top side.

Megan's afghan I finished a while ago. Her bedding is pink and her afghan has pink trim. Sarah's bedding is yellow and her afghan has yellow trim. Katie's is purple. They chose the colors for their beds when I started this project. Except Megan who was just born. She loves pink anyway so it turned out. Megan is getting her twin bed in a few months. These are pictures of her blankets.

Sandy's Haircut

It is time once again for Sandy to get cleaned up and get a haircut. Every 6 to 8 weeks she gets to go to the Sheree Birrell beauty salon and get a hair cut. These are the pictures of her before I cut her hair and after. It sure seems to grow fast. The weeks fly by and it is time to do it again.

This last few week it seems to be time to cut everyone's hair. I cut the girl's hair and then I cut my mom's hair. Sandy's hair was cut yesterday. It is always nice to get a haircut!

Labor Day - Ensign Peak

Labor Day - This is one of the first labor day weekends I can remember where we didn't have a major project to do for our house. We woke up early and went for a hike instead and it was lots of fun. The girls thought seeing the whole Salt Lake Valley was amazing. I think we live in a great place! Later we went shopping and spent time with Rick's family and with our friends. I love talking to everyone and getting caught up with what everyone is up to. I had great time visiting with everyone. It was a wonderful day!

Aquarium Visit

We took the family to the Aquarium and had a great time. They added a whole new section there since last time I went. Very cool!

A New School Year

Wow, it is already time for school again. Our time off went by very fast. Zoom, and it was over. The girls were so excited to go back to meet their teachers. Soon after the first day they were not too happy to have a routine back. It is nice in the summer to do whatever you want whenever you want.

I start work one week after my girls go back to school. I hope to finish Megan's quilt this week while they are in school. I made a quilt for Katie and Sarah when they went to a twin size bed. Megan is going to get her new bed this year. I want to get the quilt done before I go back to work, after that there will be no time.

I was proud of Katie she decided to get back onto her bike after her bad fall. I am happy because she used to love to ride all the time. There are about 9 kids on our block that ride together. Since Katie fell off her bike not one of the neighborhood kids rode their bikes for this last month. When Katie went outside after school on Friday to ride her bike all of the kids came out to ride with her.

Finished!

I finally finished the art work I started 10 years ago when KateLynn was born. I am so happy it is done! It is done in Colored Pencils. It is called "If Your Happy And You Know It"

Flowers

This is one of my favorite pictures I took of flowers in my yard.

Stitches

Summer was off to a great start and then Katie got hurt on her bike and had to get seven stitches in her knee. She had a tough couple of days after that. Then it started to heal and now her stitches are out. Her knee is much better. She is happy now that she can go swimming.
